Mike is a physiologist & former veterinary surgeon, with 25 years experience of veterinary clinical work, research and teaching (he taught at The Royal Veterinary College, Univ. of London and in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge). In 1996 he left academic life to work as an information specialist in Farm Animal Health and Food Safety, but in recent years has returned to holistic physiology and taken up a second career as a stress consultant and shamanic healer.

He comments "Increasingly I find that my stress consultancy and healing focus is on training people in the skills and arts of self-healing (see healer training) which is an excellent route for developing our abilities to facilitate the healing of others".
